Each year the limit is adjusted in line with inflation which is measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 1 April 2022, FOS award limits will change to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u00a3375,000 for complaints referred to FOS on or after 1 April 2022 about acts or omissions by firms on or after 1 April 2019<\/li><li>\u00a3170,000 for complaints referred to FOS on or after 1 April 2022 about acts or omissions by firms before 1 April 2019<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on when the complaint was brought to FOS, different limits apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fca.org.uk\/publications\/policy-statements\/ps19-8-increasing-award-limit-financial-ombudsman-service\">FCA\u2019s policy statement <strong>PS19\/8<\/strong><\/a> sets out the full background to increasing our award limits.
